"Filled with depression and anxiety, i was empty inside. i questioned my faith and existence. Satan was at work. after reconnecting with the church, i was looking for others to guide and mentor me in my search for a deeper connection with our lord. the knights were/are that guiding light for me. being around like minded men is truly a blessing." -Shawn O'Neill
"The friendships, laughter, and teamwork I saw among the group of guys that made up the Knights of Columbus Council 13453 at St Anastasia Church, was the initial reason I asked for more info on becoming a Knight. Their group of volunteers were helping others inside and outside our community. And I could tell how much joy it brought them. As a young Dad of three, I wanted to leave a legacy to my kids, one that would teach them good habits from my example. Of many things I said I cared about, the knights were doing works that made a difference in those main areas and then some. A neighbor of mine and I were both in the same stage of raising our families and after talking about it, we decided to get involved together. We weren’t expected to be brothers” to the knights more so than we were fathers to our kids. The more I learned about the order, the prouder I was to be involved. Now, the kids have grown into teens and my availability has increased to volunteer. The traditions and ways to give back I am continually learning by being with the other men in my council are a blessing to me and the future of my children. -Mark Ferri
“The Order of the Knights of Columbus is the same now as when first instituted. It is an Order composed of Catholics and instituted for the welfare of Catholic families. … Not only in sickness, but when death takes the support of the family away, the Knights of Columbus comes to the relief of the widow and the orphan in a very substantial manner.”
- FATHER MICHAEL J. MCGIVNEY, FOUNDER K OF C.
